Shiba Inu: Will Treat Token Release Alongside Shibarium?

The Shiba Inu ecosystem has several developments up its sleeve, which include Shibarium, ShibaNet, ShibaSwap 2.0, SHIB: The Metaverse, SHI stablecoin, and the Treat token. The developments are yet to be released and could take time before the team rolls them out one by one. Rumors were doing the rounds that the Treat token could be launched when Shibarium goes fully functional.

However, the lead developer of ShibaSwap, Shytoshi Kusama addressed the rumors by providing factual information about what to expect next.

Will Shiba Inu’s Treat Token Release With Shibarium?

Shiba Inu content creator LucieSHIB asked Shytoshi in a private chat if the Treat token will be launched alongside Shibarium. Shytoshi confirmed that Treat will not be released, with Shibarium calling the two developments “separate”.

“No. Not at the same time. They are very separate. Shibarium will utilize the tokens in the Ecosystem but is not the entity responsible for minting. Just a piece of tech and some guys who want the best for SHIB.” he said.

Therefore, Shibarium will be the first development to be released and the Treat token will be launched at a later time. The confirmation comes at a time when a handful of fake tokens taking the Shiba Inu ecosystem’s name is being launched in the markets.

What is Treat Token?

Treat was first introduced in a blog post published in July 2022, highlighting that it would be a reward token. The blog stated that Treat is “quietly in design” and its use cases will be “well defined and outlined”. The token will also derive rewards for the upcoming metaverse and find use cases in the Shiba Collectible Card Game.
