Flare onboards institutional data providers to boost decentralization

Flare Network (FLR) will onboard “professional infrastructure providers,” according to an announcement on December 7. These institutional players will join the network as validators and provide real-world data for Flare’s native oracles. In particular, Flare highlighted Ankr, Figment, Restake, and NorthStake onboard ing. Notably, Flare Network is the “first smart contract platform for whom these institutional validators also provide decentralized data feeds,” as communicated to Finbold. This recent onboarding aims to boost decentralization for oracle systems often used by blockchain developers. Blocksquare hires industry veteran  Fergus Murphy to lead its institutional banking division

The blockchain-based tokenization platform for the real estate industry headquartered in Slovenia, Blocksquare (BST), hired Fergus Murphy as its Head of Global Institutional Banking, per the information shared with Finbold . Murphy brings more than two decades of experience with the global banking industry to Blocksquare. He has previously worked in executive roles at multiple notable institutions, including as the CEO of Rabobank Ireland and CEO and executive vice president of the bank for Asia. Coinbase Global to launch lending platform for institutional investors

Coinbase Global, the second largest cryptocurrency exchange by market cap, plans to launch a digital asset lending platform for large institutional investors on Sep. 5. According to a regulatory filing, the exchange has successfully secured $57 million in funding for this venture. The platform, Coinbase Prime, is designed as a comprehensive prime brokerage service for US-based institutions. It enables clients to both trade and securely store tokens. Furthermore, institutions have the option to lend their digital assets to Coinbase under standardized terms, which qualifies for a Regulation D exemption.
